If a small boat passed close by, should that be shot at too?

Id image that the US movement would want to keep certain things about its submarines secret and that drone can get a lot closer than passing boats or people on the shore.

Have you heard of a telephoto lens?

If there's something about a submarine that they want to keep hidden, there is a way they can do that.
But if they are out in the open, up on the surface and out in the open they shouldn't expect any more privacy than any other vessel.

Looks like in affiliation with ABC News and with permission from the US Navy for the story apparently.    Ya, anytime you decide to start filming anyone's military assets you had better have your papers in order

I forgot these drones can take awesome shots like that instead of static landscapes and buildings.  DJI should make a zoom version of the Phantom.  It shouldn't take much to do.

Nothing, it was good because the things I've learned w/ betaflight and DIY were good that could've been worse if I just kept posting here about the findings.  Instead I posted in betaflights facebook group, signed up to photographer groups and forums to further extend the knowledge resource base.
