Hi

With the new version of DJI GO 4 4.3.32 on my Ipad 4 mini, I get this red box,  line of sight warning, when my MA is about 700 meters away.
I never had this warring before and I guess it came with the latest update.

The red box  line of sight warning, can't be cancelled, and it appears on the display.

Is there  a way to clear this warning?
Or, is there a way to roll back to a previous version of the DJI GO 4?

Thanks

The warning as you describe isn't one that has been seen before.
Are you sure of the wording of the message?
Can you show a screenshot or provide the recorded flight data that should have any warnings in it?

You can't control your drone unless you have a clear, unobstructed line of sight between the controller and the drone.
Normally if you lose your line of sight, you lose control signal and there's nothing you can do about it except wait for RTH to initiate and bring the drone back.
It's hard to understand the purpose of a line of sight warning because once you lose line of sight thare's nothing you can do about it.
And the drone can't tell you are losing LOS until you have already.

Hi
This is my home town area and I fly here a lot. I never saw this warning before I could easily continue to fly with no control issues. just this warning I could not clean and was on my screen.

I can guess it comes from the latest  DJI GO4 update I have made few days ago. Can I roll back a version DJI GO4 on an IOS device? (
Thanks

That's interesting.
It does appear to be a new warning.
Did it prevent you flying?

It's also interesting that even DJI uses the term Line of Sight when they mean VLOS.
You could fly 10 miles away and maintain line of sight but you could fly just a few hundred metres out and lose visual line of sight.

I could fly with no problems at all, I just could not clear this red box .

I wonder if I can roll back my DJI GO4  version, on my  Ipad mini.

I doubt that in iOS you can return to an earlier version.

This on going red box that you can't clear is very disturbing..
If not going to an earlier version, I hope DJI will at least let us clean this warning

I just flew my Mavic Air.  Over 700 meters, i received the same message.  I tapped it and it went away but keep coming back after a few seconds until I was within 700m. It's a tad annoying but can live with it. It would be better if it did not refresh so fast!!!

I wonder what the 'design department' will respond.

More DJI 'hand holding'.

Ridiculous.

They clearly do anything to try pleasing relevant Authorities.

A persistent nag alert can only get in the way of safe flying, especially on smaller screens.

This really is not right to have this screen come up.  There is no law that requires DJI to do this, and a warning once, maybe...  but a persistent warning is not the right way to do this.  Any time your flying, and a big giant red warning comes up on the screen can cause nothing but issues.  If you insist, have it display on power on about line of sight warning, and they then leave  it  alone.  It feels like your next update is to not just warn, but stop flights itself.  The only warning I want is entering restricted flight areas.  And those I could do without, because I check airspace and know whats around me.

I wonder if  you can trigger this warning when you are flying from the top of a canyon, and descend down 900 meters.    having that warning up on the screen would not make me happy....

It's just DJI appeasing authorities in the face of stricter drone laws.

Either that or they regard their whole user base as novices.

Get rid of that warning please!

The easiest way around the problem is to start building your own drones, that way you aren't subject to someone elses control.

Hi
I have the same problem after 700 m skips the message.
Can you ignore the message and fly more than 700 m?
thanks

Hello and good day FanOfFlight. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused. This matter has already been reported to our DJI R&D and we would fix this issue in the next application version. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Im pretty sure that in some countrys you can't fly out of sight so DJI put that in to make sure you have a LOS at all times.

That is true.  In Canada it says "where you can see it" (meaning 50 feet away behind a tree is not even legal).     either way, I'm not challenged with the warning itself, its the persistence of the warning and implementation of the warning.  a one time visual warning, and even an audible alert would be okay, maybe a yellow warning that removes itself after 5 seconds, and an audible ding (or a voice that says "you may be leaving line of site").  It should be a non panic type of alert.

Relates to FAA recreational drone flight rules in US:
"Keep your drone within your visual line of sight, or within the visual line-of-sight of a visual observer who is co-located (physically next to) and in direct communication with you."

but why at 700 meter??  why not at 800  or 600 or ??

is 700 meters = LOS ??  guess not,and if i fly with a observer...still get that message.

So OKE for that message, but should be clicked away one.

If you are sure you only updated the Go4 app, and not the bird itself, then why can't you
just delete the version on your device and just the version you want? There is a site that has all the versions available for direct download.
https://apkpure.com/dji-go-4-for ... /dji.go.v4/versions
UNLESS, you are locked in with the Apple ecosystem??

Found this, may help? For installing older versions of the Go4 app on Apple stuff:

Hi Folks,

I also saw this warning the other day. Very annoying. There are three warnings overall, I want to get rid of:

- max altitude reached (it's ok once, but keeps popping up near the max altitude)
- 120m altitude reached (it would be ok once, but I keep getting it)
- line of sight warning

Any help is appreciated DJI should add the option to turn these warnings off!
