With recent confirmation that the Osmo Pocket mic interface can't accept two separate microphones, which also means it can't record stereo either. Here's a couple of videos that clearly show why GoPro's audio adapter is far superior.
These examples show the benefit of GoPro's ability to record at line level. This is important as it allows the bypassing of the interface's AGC and limiting, dynamics processing when in the preamplified microphone input modes, something that can't be done with the DJI interface.
As for stereo, or proper discreet two channels. This is also something that the GoPro interface can do and the DJI interface can't.
I will do a head to head video/audio comparison soon showing a side by side difference between GoPro's and DJI's audio abilities via their microphone/audio interfaces. For this example I will be using two microphones, something typical for interviews, stereo, or any scenario requiring the ability to record two separate independent audio channels.
It's also worth bearing in mind that the GoPro interface is also superior to DJI's with regard dynamic range, frequency response and inherent self noise.
Another difference to make note of here is that DJI have audio differences even between their own audio interfaces. The Osmo Pocket microphone interface, despite it not being a good as the GoPro interface, is actually better than the Osmo Action interface. The Osmo Action, Cynova interface, has many issues even when compared to the interface for the Osmo Pocket, let alone the GoPro interface. I will be doing a video soon showing the clear and obvious differences in audio quality between the Osmo Pocket and Osmo Action microphone interfaces.
This is all a great shame for Osmo Pocket owners because as we all know, the Osmo Pocket has the best picture quality of all the small cameras, including all the actioncams and is even better than GoPro's flagship, the Hero 8 Black.
