Hello all,
I was hoping to get some clarity/help on a recent incident that occured to me when I was flying my Phantom 3 standard. It was cloudy outside, and it looked like I might have been able to peak above them so I decided to take out my drone and try to reach above the clouds. Right around 1,200 feet from my takeoff altitude, the drone props began to make a very odd. As I looked at the camera/visuals, the drone seemed to be spinning, and desending from its altitude fast. After about half a minute of attempting to take control of the rogue drone, it crashed at a fairly high velocity into my driveway. I tried to find out what happened to it, but I couldn't find anything online that solved my problem. The takeoff altitude was about 8,000 feet in about 30 degree (F) weather. I'm guessing something spun it out of control, but I can't understand what. I have flown in clouds at this altitude and temperature before, and all of those flights were normal. Any answers to this incident would be greatly appreciated. |
