Most countries require VLOS, so the only way to do this legally is to setup a lot of spotters along the route with communication back to the pilot, but mostly I still believe this is a grey area.
The FAA does not allow spotters to take place of VLOS. In some area the air traffic controlled air space is surface up to the ceiling of the class air space. There is instruments and software that can decode your drones ID when its in regulated, and restricted airspace. Most users don't realize this when they first start up their drone, they are actually providing info such as email, and home address for that purpose. Drones are a great hobby, and a ton of fun, but at the end of the day, they are an aircraft, with great potential to cause harm, damage, and loss of life if flown recklessly. |
