Super short video with a view of Rainier, Mt Adams, Saint Helens and the cascades. Sorry no filter so they are a little washed out in the video. Hope you enjoy!

Nice video.

What kind of filters were you planning on using to get 'less washed out video'?

I am not sure what filters I should get but I have got a couple comments on some of my videos saying they looked washed out that I should get filters. I probably never will get filters just figured I would save the keyboard warriors some time.

I'm not sure what they would mean with washed out.
There is 2 types of filters out there (mainly)
Polarizers (PL) that will reduce reflection coming from a certain angle. It might help in certain situations to get a better 'look' (less highlight details) or look through the water (because there is little reflection)
OR
ND filter (Neutral density). They are effectively sunglasses and reduce the amount of light that gets through.
You use them (most often) to reduce the shutterspeed and introduce some motion blur in your video that looks 'pleasing' to the eye.
Neither of them will help with 'washed out footage' I think.
But if I'm wrong I'd like to see some examples

Thanks for the advise. I am hesitant to get lenses for my Mavic Air since I plan on upgrading in the next year or so to the Inspire.

I can understand that.
If you do professional work, it is more important to get the right shutterspeed.
Some clients will see the difference if you have too fast shutterspeeds.
In that case you have to take your time and change filters between every shot (if necessary)  to get  the right shutterspeed.
For other work, it is personal preference.
I don't really see that much difference if I fly slowly.
So I actually never use ND filters, unless it is a 'critical' job (paid work for a customer that sees the difference).
So far that only happened once.
PL filters are a bit different.
Mainly personal preference if it is worth the cost,  time and effort .
You are the artist, so you decide
But I'm not being paid to deliver certain content

Thanks for the advise. I am hesitant to get lenses for my Mavic Air since I plan on upgrading in the next year or so to the Inspire.

PS, it is a bit like shooting prime lenses on a DSLR.
Some love it, some hate it.
The added bonus of image quality / wider aperture is not that important for many.
But some swear by it.
Others love what 'zoom' lenses can bring you in versatility / convenience.
I have tried both and ended up using prime lenses only.
I don't matter the inconvenience, but actually grew to like the process of choosing a lens for a certain subject.
I am more aware of 'what' and 'how' I want to shoot before pressing the shutter. Which results in more 'keepers' and less shots in total.

So in a way filters are comparable I guess.
They force you to slow down and take your time before you can take off thinking about lighting and shutterspeed.
But in the end, that is not worth it for me (opposite to with lenses, where I actually like the extra constraint)
Maybe I will switch to using filters more often in the future, but this is how I go about it right now.
