The problem seems to be simple. When I attach the focus motor to the rod I tighten it as much as I can but it still doesn’t the motor in place strong enough so when I use it the motor pushes itself away from the lens just enough to distance itself from the ring so that it stops working. As you can see from my photo I tried to tighten it by adding a rubber band layer in between to help with the grip but even that doesn’t last longer than a minute.
Any help greatly appreciated as it’s driving me crazy!!
