This morning I was out at Blue Heron Bridge in Rivera Beach, FL. I got a lot of cool footage of a spot that I dive about once a month (We train new divers here) but This is my favorite. This is Peanut Island. It's now a park 9and thus closed) but normally this time of year it is teaming with people all around the edges who are picknicking, swimming, etc. It's a local favorite.

The area in the middle of the island is a bomb shelter built by President Kennedy. It's been closed for rehab for a year, hopefully when it opens up again, I'll get to see it.

Nice shot. I always like to have the sky above the horizon in those sort of angles personally, otherwise it looks like the top is cropped short. A little further back with gimbal up.

Yup. I've got a couple like that but this was the best shot of the island itself. I wish I could have gotten over it and shot straight down but it's just too far away. I'll dig up one of the farther shots and post it for perspective.

Honestly, I do not know where the name came from.

The center of the island is a decommissioned presidential fallout shelter built during the Kennedy administration.  It used to be open to the public for tours but they closed it last year, I think for rehab. I hope, because we never got to take the tour.
