Portions sped up in Shotcut.  Flight time about 13 minutes.  04-18-2020 somewhere in SW Ohio.

Good footage. With the right speed boost and stabilized it can really shift...

Anyway... I think before doing something like that would be best to fit the camera with some heavy ND filter. If it ain't good for me it ain't good for my critter, this will be my motto from now on ;)

Why would you add a ND filter?
Unless it is a graduated nd filter it won't help with the high dynamic range of this shot.

Sensor burn. I've read about cases in the past.

I don't remember if it was DSLR, camcorder or what... but it was sun related if I recall correctly, not like the famous laser sensor burn which became public domain at a later date.

Ok, never heard about that until now.
I have been shooting with various cameras (stills + video) for about 20 years now and ND filters are super useful to get your shutterspeed right for video or make long exposure shots (high density needed) but other than that I never use them.
In this case I'm rather sure the OP does not need a ND filter, since the lighting situation looks perfectly fine for a MP's shutterspeed.

I have been searching a little and there are reports of burned sensors, but they are super rare and I can't verify any of them.
It is not on any major photography site that I know of.
If it would be such a danger I would suspect it would be fixed by now since people shoot images of the sun constantly (myself included)
