It's a good thought, but I think that 1080p just comes with them adopting the Ocusync protocol? The Mavic 2 Pro, for instance, also has 1080p video transmission. Sure, that may have been because of Goggles support like you say (although I would guess that you can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on an iPad and some other larger screen sizes people use). But even if it were for Goggles support in Ocusync 2.0 for the Mavic 2 Pro, there's no reason for them to intentionally nerf the transmission of Ocusync 3.0 that they put in the Mavic Air 2, right? May as well just leave it as 1080p.
Yes - maybe you are right. Or, maybe...
I just see no business reason why DJI would not want to make money on goggles for MA2 users. Technology is there - available for free.
I think they may be working on digital HD goggles compatibility. Probably would use something similar to what they provide to FPV market. There is no sense to go back to analog goggles now.
They will come. Or, so is my speculation...
