Is there a way to check if a home point has been stored once the P3 has warmed up? I see the message come up on my screen sometimes and other times, not. I know the map will give you an indication but i'm wondering if it mentions it anywhere in the DJI app?

It only shows on the map. That's the best place to verify it since you can also see its location.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case.  

FYI: it sets the home location when you start the motors, not when ready, or at least that's the behaviour I've seen doing multiple short takes for a video in the weekend and landing, walking with the phantom turned on and taking off again the home point moved on the map...
