Ever since my Mavic Mini had a rough landing in a tree, it's been taking off while sliding backwards and to the left. After a few moments it does stabilize but it thinks it's in strong winds. It's a bit of a bummer since I bought it only a month ago.
Externally everything looks fine, so I wonder what's going on. Anybody have a clue how I could diagnose or fix the issue? Should I try and open it?

What kind of shape are the props in? Have you tried changing them?

Have you recalibrated the IMU?

I don't think I have, I did just now. It's still taking off and flying backwards. It's dark so I'll check tomorrow if it's still complaining about wind or not.

Just remember to also to calibrate the compass as well.

I'd open a ticket. Hope for the best!

After looking at your prop video I think I would change the props and also calibrate the IMU.  If the issue continues then you will probably have to contact DJI support.  

Re-calibrate the IMU the GPS, the Gimbal & the controller.   If the props are scruffy, replace them too.

Prop the Props! Very poor state...

The propellers are such an important part of these little drones flying right. That is why replacement props are so easy to find.

I replaced the most beat up propeller, and learned that there are propeller types that I need to be mindful of. Luckily no damage from that learning experience.

I suspect what's causing this drone to back up when it takes off is that I feel a bit more friction when manually spinning the back left engine. It might be somehow providing less thrust than the others before the stabilization system kicks in.

I'll open a ticket. Thank you folks for the advice.
