I can manually have the drone orbit me in trace mode by using the controller, but when I used the curved slider on the smart controller it never moves and the slider just returns to center. I have tested this in open areas without obstacles and at several different elevations.

Please use the slider when you enter trace mode in ActiveTrack to let the drone fly circle around the tracking subject. Make sure that you had tapped GO after drawing the subject. See if this helps.
