I dunno about that,  I was flying today and got a message Switched to Backup IMU,  then it said Navigation System Redundancy Switch and the screen went black for about 5 seconds,  I genuinely thought I'd lost it.  When the screen came back I flew straight home and landed.  Now debating if I need to do an IMU calibration.

Never had that (fortunately).

for the beginning try fly only in your sight over water.
you will get more comfortable with your skills later! they key to success is: practice, practice practice!

a little drift is normal. depends on the wind.

thats always a matter of personel taste

Well,  the MA2 seems to handle wind pretty well!   The wind was CRACKIN in that video......maybe 20 to 25mph...?

i guess wind was around 15 to 20 mph when fly.
we have often stronger wind here at the coastline and the mavic air2 can handle it.

you know water here at northcoast  looks not so nice. brown or darkgreen normally. same in ireland i guess.
i prefer tropical water like in this video from me:
