Hello, i am a M2P user. I just changed my phone iphone to android. I realised that my controller battery drains so fast, i checked my phone if it was being charged, yes it was being charged by conteoller. Then i went to menu to turn charging mode off. Oops surprise it wasnt there

And as i understand this is a common problem on android. How can i fix this problem??

I have 4 batteries for drone and now i can use one and a half of them !
Please help..

It's an Android thing. Some models can be hacked to prevent the charging, but that breaks the security of your phone -- maybe ok if flying is all you're using it for? Search the forum for many posts on the subject.

I found a solution. I will connect the phone via external usb cable and will cut the power cable in it, the black one. An indian solution in YouTube

How do android users solve this problem w/o hacking?

Hey DJI this is so silly why didn't you solved this up to now ?

Maybe take a Power Bank and plug it into the charge port while you are flying.......I do NOT know if this works while in the air, but I have bench tested it and it works fine.

Wow.  Just did some scouring for any 'practical' solutions and there are none, depending on the type of phone you have.  My phone (Galaxy Note 10+) charges when connected to the RC.  I also have an Apple phone as well.  Many people don't have an issue with an Apple/iOS device, as it doesn't charge when connected to the RC, though many Android users have that issue (depending on what Android device you have).  Many solutions consisted from modding the USB cable to not charge to carrying around a power bank.  There is no option to stop charging within the DJI 4 Go app and I don't see an option in my Galaxy device.  It can be unfortunate, as it does draw power from the RC, thus cutting down your flight time.

Because it's something that's in the Android operating system.
It's not something DJI can do anything about.

This is the correct answer.
Your RC will not drain your phone.

Start with your phone fully charged, and turn off anything you dont need, as in Airplane mode.
no cell no wifi no nothing, just talking to the controller.
It will reduce the charging effort from the controller, and buy you more time..

Before flying, I always make sure my Android phone is charged to 100% Galaxy S8+, I make sure fast charging is turned off, usually can fly 4 batteries before controller gets to 20%.

You can use one of the batteries at 25% charge plugged into the side micro usb port to charge the remote. Connect the phone via the bottom standard usb port.

Don't understand why there is still the down on DJI for this when it is an Android issue.

With my one plus 7 pro rooted i was able to stop charging but now that i have an s20 what i did was just use a thin lightweight battery bank and velcroed it to the back of my tablet/phone holder mount i have mounted in my controller. Its pretty hidden and clean looking . So when i go out to fly i plug device in like usual bottom port and charge with battery bank in side port of controller. Works a treat. 1 battery now with my s20 takes the remote to 89% instead of 35%

Exactly ! Just make sure all your other apps are closed and you should be good ! If your phone n remote is fully charged when you fly . With full battery charge I can easily fly 3 full mp batteries and still have plent of phone battery left .
