Hey guys,

Just unpacked my Mavic air 2 and found a strange and annoying super loud fan noise at idle:

Tried to reset it with DJI assistant 2, switching batteries and powering it off and on several times.

Shall I return?

Isn't it normal that the fan blows harder when it is idle? You need more cooling than during the flight.

Does it drop down in sound volume after a minute or so? Also in order to know how it actually sounds hold mic about two foot away .

Not sure, the thing is sitting there doing nothing and the fan is super loud. Do other mavic air 2 owners have a similar issue?

It stays loud till battery is depleted, no drop whatsoever. My phone is not great at picking up far away noise so that why I recorded close, but I can assure I can hear the loud noise while I am in another room.

Mine does the same. I'm not concerned about that to be honest.

Well fan is supposed to work similar but once cooled down it should get quieter and then kick in again.

Hi NightWolf, the fans sound normal. It spins once power on, when the temperature of the main board arrives 60°, the spin speed would be 80%, 100% when the temperature arrives 85° and above.

Mine did that a lot the first few times that I flew it, now it doesn't do blow as loud or as long as it used to so it should be fine.

I was curious to know the same thing as I also have noticed this with my MA2. It apparently is normal - I have had no issues nor temperature warnings to indicate a problem and the drone flies/operates quite fine.
