I do a lot of long exposure landscape photography and really appreciate the value of NDs.

The lack of aperture control is definitely what might have me waiting for a (hopefully sub 900g) Mavic Pro 3.

A ND filter is a great workaround and essential for those long exposure photos but a right pain to have to land and fit. If you are doing multiple passes of a subject (in your 30 mins of flight time so very possible), some towards the sun and some away from it or into shady corners being able to alter the aperture is so much easier than fitting a different ND filter. And fitting an ND and then dialling it in exactly with a  aperture to fine tune is useful too.

Yes,  hopefully we will see a new drone soon with EU classification, as even the Air2 falls into the legacy category when the rules changes, even then I don't know if I'll change the M2P for the M3P as I doubt the new rules will be enforced for a while.

Plus these youtubers rely on a constant feed of new content to keep their channel 'alive'....

Depends on how many other contracts they have I think.
Some also rely on sponsorships, affiliate programs etc.

Hey great video but I cant the camera lens cover off the camera ( as shown in your video) to add an ND filer... any tips i'm pressing in and turning but it seems stuck I am concerned about breaking the gymbal
Any tips or is anyone else having issues ... I imagine this should be easy as its something I'll probably do often

It shouldn't take too much force, so go careful. The cover you need to remove first is just the outer frame. With one hand hold the gimbal/camera body still while turning the front frame anti clockwise (when looking from the front of the Mavic) by about an 8th of a turn, the frame should be loose now and pull easily away. Fitting a filter or the frame back on is just the reverse.

The more the better.

Thanks for the reply ...I'm aware its just the outer frame  I've tried and can't get it to move. Do you push the frame down towards the lens or press the sides of the frame inwards and turn?

I turn the MA2 upside down and while looking at the front of the gimbal I hold the gimbal with my right hand while pressing down gently on the upper left corner of the gimbal frame.  The frame will rotate down just a little and release the hooks holding it in place so that you can just pull it off.

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. Worth checking with the shop if you can though.

Out of interest - I notice that Polar Pro are listing fixed ND filters with a polariser built in (Vivid Collection)  and also a couple of variable ND filters for the MA2. Currently on pre-order
