This was all shot in 2.7k @ 30fps. Would the footage be more cinematic at a different fps and if so what should I use?
Also, few close calls with an angry bird over the water there. I was worrying about losing my drone in the water and had to lift the height every time I saw him swoop in!

Anyhow thanks for any suggestions, and enjoy!

Great colors. Cinamatic means a crop, and a mood... not sure it copes well with the scene. What I tend do is to increase the gamma trying not flattening the highlights.

I've learnt that MM shadows offer a lot of detail, highlights meanwhile tend to be more blown out.

I mean the footage at a lower fps like 24 would it appear smoother perhaps or look more cinematic... that's what I kind of mean. I might have to try a test at different fps and see if it makes much difference.

I've come to this conclusion:

I keep everything 30fps for practical reasons: I don't shoot sports, it's lighter on my ageing system resources, it's smooth enough even when shutter speed is quick.
If I need a more creamy look I have ND-PL filters to lower the shutter speed.

For the moment where I wanted to shoot low light I went wtih 25fps, now I will go 24. It allows a lower shutter speed (gather more light, brighter picture) and can be sped up to get along 30fps footage quite nicely, or can be used alongside other 24/25fps footage if dealing exclusively with low light videos.

Good job, for me I always use 24fps , it’s cinema standard it’s what we are all used to watching. I think 98% of all movies we watch are in 24fps 1080p and in Europe for television 25fps, 25fps is used in pal areas and is exactly half of 50hrtz , in US TV 30fps half of 60hrtz NTSC.

Yes, this is what I was getting at.

I did a test though in the same spot yesterday afternoon. One at 30fps, one at 25fps and one at 24fps. To be honest, the 30fps looked the best on my mac. At 24fps I saw a bit of grain texture in the waves, at least it seemed that way to my eye. It wasn't smoother. I guess it all depends on what you intend to view it on. I post to youtube and facebook so maybe the 30fps is what I should just use.
