I am thinking of buying an iPad or iPad Pro for using with my new Mavic Air 2 as a phone screen feels a bit small.

A question though - would I need internet while using the iPad with DJI Fly? i.e. just wondering whether I
could get by with an iPad without a SIM slot and save $120.

The issue you might have is that GPS does not work with iOS devices without (return home can be affected). |
(GPS chip is only available with the SIM versions.
Also your maps won't be downloaded without internet.

If your desperate you could always use your phone as a personal hotspot.

I guess the device GPS is only necessary if you move?

True, I was thinking of that too. Does that cause interference with Occusync though?

Never had a problem with it myself.   I do this to be able live stream.

I never tried that.
Only read that is a possible issue.
I'm not sure about the new fly app. With Go4 you can.

In addition it is not necessary to put your device in airplane mode but please make sure there is no such calls/text message or any notification that will interrupt you when using your device while flying your DJI Drone. Related to this would the iPad Mini 5 work or would you have to try and locate a 4. I currently have a mini 3 but it is not listed and am concerned that the processor is underpowered to truly fly.  Thanks for your help. @djiStephen
