yes, if I upgrade my mavic air, my target will be mavic air 2 .

Were you pointing the aerial end on to the drone, also which side did you have the mobile plug in ?

I see you've got an US MA2 (ADS-B sticker on the arm), but you seem located in UK.
Can you confirm that your test was done in CE mode ?
4 kms is not so bad in CE

Mavic Air 2 is hard coded in the system max distance of 11km, after that the drone disconnects.
