Hi guys,

Last week i purchased my very first drone with the Air 2. I was quite surprised how well it handled. Unfortunately my excitement didn't last so long as after a couple of seconds in my first flight the Gimbal overload error message showed up. Also i noticed then a kind of vibrating recording. So not usable for a good footage.


Before you ask. Yes the gimbal cover was removed. Also all stickers. After landing and tunring off i was checking as well, if something is blocking the gimbal somwhere.Nothing found. You can imagine iw as quite frustrated after that. I also raised a ticket with the number of 2781460 and asked for a replacement as this not really acceptable for me for brand new product and i don't want to wait now for 2 months to get a hopefully fixed one....


Do you think the chances are good to go this way? I have purchased it at a licensed shop here in Germany.



By the way, here are two videos from my first flights. On the second one you can see that the first 30-40 seconds everything is good till it starts to get ugly:

If you purchased at Saturn or Mediamarkt or similar, they have to replace the defective product.

It can be fixed easily if you’re not too fussy.

Else send it back.

Thos clips definitely have quite bad jello effect, I would return the aircraft immediately.

Something off for sure. Return.

Ouch, if you can see nothing obvious, then its time to send it in for warranty

I tend to get this message and the gimbal locked one a lot (or blocked, can't remember).  Is this common?  I move it slightly and then it's all fine.  I don't have any issues with the resulting recordings though.

I have had the same issue and there is a simple fix. Calibrate again (from the app) the gimbal, IMU and compass. That solved the problem for me. I was about to return it back to DJI...

So some things tested

Yesterday i did a firmware refresh and everything worked after that. Had a good 20 min flight without any problems. In another flight today, the error and video problem came back

I am also already waiting now 3 days of an answer from Customer Service. They once answered back and asked for adress etc. Since then, no answer....very very frustrating, esecially in that price range....
