Ok I have spent £20K on the M300 and the H20T camera payload + accessories - I attached the H20T payload fine to the M300 single downward facing gimbal connector and flew it with no issues although on the original firmware which has a very limited primary flight display functionality. Anyway all firmware updates performed fine.
The next day I tried to attach the H20T to the gimball connector on the M300 (white dot on the payload to red dot on the connector) and it wouldn't!!!!! The two connectors won't sit flush and so won't connect. What a terrible design!!!!
Good to know you have figured out the issue, the connection inside the aircraft could be rotated occasionally, please always make sure it is in the correct position, enjoy flying.
the gimble connector seems to shift in transit and just needs to be realigned - rotate and align and it fits just fine but a head scratcher the first time.

OK happy to say I have now resolved it thanks to a very old Inspire 1 post where the same problem happened - very issue to resolve!

really easy just rotate the connector (on the aircraft) the gimbal attaches to - just use you thumb and first finger to rotate the connector slightly by pressing gently your fingers onto the the two metal mounds (see red highlights) and then it slides in a circular motion - see picture below
