When the small town of Hahnenklee in the Harz mountains needed a bigger place for worship in the early 20th century, it commissioned the architect Mohrmann who had just seen the stave churches of Norway. He build a church for 350 persons and inserted windows.
The stave churches of Norway are usually much smaller and have no windows.
The inside of the church is very pretty as wall: lots of carvings and painting.
After that we take a look at the „love bank“ near Hahnenklee. A pretty spot.
Finally there are a few shots around Hahnenklee (the Schalker Turm - tower), another lake and the cliffs of Philippsbrücke near Altenau.
