I just received this warning for the first time today.  After reading this whole thread, I must say that I store my Mini in a different case and have never crossed the blades for storage.  Can't wait to see what DJI says about this, if they even do.

I wonder if aftermarket props can cause this as well

This is a common issue with the new drone. You can see this video to resolve it. Its an easy fix. Nothing to worry about. Its the case thats the issue and moreover has a simple fix. Whats even better is that your drone, with this new firmware update has the capability to tell you that there is an issue that can be fixed. So nothing to be alarmed about.Click here otherwise.

Bump - any updates? Just got this error while on vacation. Rear right prop (not rear left like most in this thread). Disappointed not to be able to fly this trip but I didn't bring replacement props and I don't want to crash in the ocean

Hmm. Same issue. Except mine was the back right props. Switched them out and appears to be fixed. Fingers crossed.

If you have read the thread then you know the cure, change the deformed blades.
But note replace both blades on an affected motor,  DO NOT change just one blade.
If you fly a hover at eye level in truly WINDLESS conditions and leave the drone hovering for a minute or so with no stick input then post the DAT for the flight it may be possible to identify the motor or motors with the deformed blades.
