I would like to buy a Mavic Air 2 drone-only (no remote control, charger, accessories, etc.)? A similar offering was available for the Phantom 3 Pro at 46% off the price of a P3P and I bought one.
Hello there BobCowen. Thank you for reaching out and for the inquiry. As of the moment, I am sorry to say that buying a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone without the remote controller is not available. For the most recent update with regards to this matter kindly please visit our official DJI store websit at https://store.dji.com/?site=brandsite&from=nav for further details. Thank you.
No, I haven't lost or broken it but would like to always have a back-up plan. This "bare bones" configuration would provide that because I would re-link the controller to the back-up MA2. DJI offered this on the P3P at 46% off the price of the regular P3P and I bought it. Now that I've replaced my Phantoms, I'd like to do the same with my MA2 but only buy what I need. I suspect that many others would do the same (if it were priced right).

I encourage DJI to offer a configuration like this (see comments below) and hope others will jump in on this topic to express their feelings.
Doug: sharp eye, thanks for the links. It looks like some enterprising folks are breaking up the DJI offering and selling the parts. Unfortunately, the prices are not anywhere near what the price would be if they were to follow the discount pattern that DJI set (46% off) with the Phantom 3 Pro when they offered a "bare bones" version. Keeping my fingers crossed that lightning strikes again; this time with the MA2.
