Hi,
I am writing to see whether DJI offers any discount to social enterprises?
We are about to purchase a Mavic Air 2 for our recently launched ASPIRE360 in partnership with a Cornish school. ASPIRE360 is a 1800-mile circumnavigation of the UK on our sail training ship, Helen Mary R. Up to 40 young students from the school will be taking part on 4 challenging and life changing legs. The challenge departs on the 30th May 2021 and will take around 1 ½ months to complete. We were due to be sailing on the challenge now, but due to the global pandemic we had to sadly postpone all operations for 2020 and push them to 2021; we feel services for young people are going to needed more than ever after lockdown is released, young people are going to be affected massively by these strange times, both in a mental health setting but also with those valuable soft skills that sailing helps so, so much.
Morvargh Sailing Project is a social enterprise which uses offshore sailing to help develop character in children and young people. Offshore sailing is an unforgiving natural environment that provides a sense of risk and adventure to the participants; whilst allowing us to develop them over a range of disciplines. As I’m sure you know sailing creates challenging and exciting activities that put people in situations where they need to solve problems which can easily be transferred into everyday life. Most young people come to us with little or no sailing experience but nearly all find it life changing.
Our partnership with the school promises to ensure local young people, some from very challenging backgrounds, will have a chance to experience things that are normally out of reach. A large proportion of the children going to the school live in particularly deprived areas; the area suffers from a lack of aspiration, and this partnership aims to create a new and exciting way of showing young people they can achieve, they can do, and even potentially open up career paths for them into the marine industry. It is important for us to try and reduce the barriers to participation.
My reason for this post is to see if DJI is able to offer any discounts to social enterprises? We want to take a drone with us to record the very special moments that this voyage will provide and the footage produced will be such a fantastic way to keep parents updated as to our progress. We would of course highlight your support with information about DJI on our website, via a press release, and social media posts throughout the 1½ month long voyage. If there any other ways we could help in marketing DJI we’d be happy to do this as we understand the need for a return on investment against any discount made.
A large proportion of our voyages are only made possible through the generous funding and support we have received from members of our community and from businesses like DJI discounting products etc.
