This bridges where destroyed during wwii in greece by the resistant to sabotaze the german and italian troops.

Goodmorning,

until one year was the main railway of greece, inthe center almost of the greece.
This bridges are very famous here because during wwii the where blown up to sabotage the germans and italians. the last year they developed a new railway for the main of greece and only 2 trains are passing this bridges which connect athens and lamia.

Oh I know that feeling.
Have been waiting for a steam train (scheduled one on a museum line that runs a couple of times a day) and had 3 batteries....
Lost the first 2 on thinking it would come soon.
I kept the drone on (not running) with the last one so I could get airborne asap (I wanted to capture it from a distance, but had to leave that idea....)

Also (I am a train fan, as you might have noticed by now) we have this saying when we are trainspotting: let's pack up and leave, because it will finally show up when we are in the car.
We had numerous occasions when we waited for hours without any trains passing by, only to find ourselves in the car when we heard the train coming (and usually miss it because we had packed already)

Its the same rail with the bridges... from 20 trains per day, now only 2 passes..

Hope there is some signal or railroad crossing that can give you a hint about the arrival.
Many times the signal will jump to green as the train is coming (because they have to release a stretch of rail)

here is greece... everything works with a different way...
you can not trust anything..
sometime even the bar isnt coming down... on crossroads..

Ghegheghe.
In that case, ehm.
I have no clue how to predict the arrival.
Most of the times I use signals.
They give the best warning for me.
If that does not work, crossings.
Otherwise just the ears.
