I am not a big fan of the micro USB connector on the side of the controller,  every time I charge it,  I am always scared that I am going to put it in upside down and wreck it.  I usually find myself checking 2 or 3 times before actually plugging it in.  I use an Android phone with a USB C connector for flying so I thought I would try a USB C female to female coupler to see how/if they work.  It works great, seems to charge at the same rate.  I no longer have to worry about messing up the micro usb connector on the side of the controller, I just leave the factory usb adapter cable attached.  Attached is a picture of it charging, I usually leave the usb connector in the phone clip more but pulled it out to show it better.

I share that same fear....I thot I had a usb c adaptor banging around, may have to buy a new one. Great idea!!!
