I left GoPro because their customer service was garbage and they refused to address a major external mic audio issue for multiple models. I now have the Osmo Action for motovlogging. Interface, ease of use, and video quality are top-notch. However, I'm having an issue with the quality of the audio for the external mic.

The audio is full of static and distorted. It's not good enough to use for YouTube videos. I thought maybe I was talking too loud in the first videos so I started talking very quiet while riding. Better, but still the same problems. The next step is mic placement but this is where my mic has always been and the audio sounded great with three other devices. So there's an issue with the Osmo Action with this.

Any ideas on a fix or workaround?

Camera is up to date FYI and I'm using the official mic adapter with a Purple Panda mic.
