Until today, I hadn't seen a decent real world test of the DJI Mavic Air 2's 48 megapixel photo feature, but finally it's here from DroningON, showing comparisons between regular and 48mp photos and comparing in detail whether this feature is worth it's marketing hype!
Nothing is free. 48M pixels means smaller pixels then what you are using in the 12M version of your photos. So, in lower light you will be better off with the 12M version of your photos. Good to have the option of both methods though.

If you want to low light then get the M2P but 48MP on that is awesome.
A good compare would be the M2Z zoomed all the way in optically.
