Quick question for you guys with more experience: if I'm trying to shoot a scenario where manual settings are not ok and I do want auto (e.g. I'm doing a reveal from a dark terrain shot to a brighter sky and I would like the exposure to adjust as the gimbal is raising). Is there any downside to shooting in 60fps and then just use this in a 30fps timeline (without slowing it down, so basically just skipping every other frame). This would ensure the SS never drops below 1/60fps which is what I'm looking for.

Thanks.

I normally shoot with 24 fps, and I set to 60 or 30 only if I want some slowing down at certain spot.
I'm more likely to shoot every single footage with one motion, and I don't shoot a whole long video then cut on post editing.

Of course there is one downsize: The quality of each frame get‘s worse the more FPS you record with.

I think that efforts to improve motion blur will be wiped out if only every second frame is "picked" ...

I always use 25 fps (Europe) and possibly 50 fps if slow motion makes sense.
However, Davinci Resolve, for example, is also able to "improve" (add) Motion Blur afterwards.

I don’t think that’s correct, all that matters for the motion blur is the shutter speed and that doesn’t change by dropping frames

Why is that? I did some testing regarding this and couldn’t see any difference between frames
