I thought I would share this short video for some of us that are new to the drone scene and don't really know what happens during an RTH. I was chasing power boats going up and down the river nearby and was done after catching one ;-) So, being lazy as I am, I just hit RTH and the MA2 came home perfectly. It comes back to land among a few large oak trees and I was at the ready with the remote but did not need to intervene at all. As many times before, I found it interesting to see how the drone swung around to point to home, then ascended, came home, then dropped after aligning itself in the remembered takeoff direction. Then the perfect precision landing on the pad. I continue to be impressed with my new hobby's hardware ;-)
I don't remember the brand but it is 36" diameter. No markings on it anywhere, so just another knockoff. It is a bit of a trick to fold it up but I finally got the hang of it.
It looks just like this one with different colors on each side: https://www.amazon.com/Fstop-Labs-Drone-Landing-Pad/dp/B0792VQ38K
Similar here. RTH allows safe return of the drone in "tight" quarters when I fly from home. My house and trees block my view on return. A layer of safety incase my app CRASHES keeps the drone out of the trees AND off my roof!!!
