Hello fellow flyers. New here, just got the Phantom 2 with the H3-3D Gimbal. Everyhting is hooked up but on the remote whenever i move the lever on the back, the gimbal doesnt move up or down. Other then that it works fine. Any ideas? Thanks

What version of the firmware are you on?  If you are not on the most current then please upgrade.  After you do that, have you calibrated the X1 channel that controls the tilt function?  You need to do that as well.

Not sure on the firmware. I downloaded the Phantom Mac app and it did a firmware update on the aircraft, then i downloaded the remote app and plugged it in, did a calibration. Even after calibrated when i move the lever it doesnt move the slider in the app any, the joysticks work fine but the lever doesnt do anything.

I'm having the same problem.

I've updated everything (including the RC app) but the lever does not work.

Here is a screenshot:

Download the rc assistant app. Calibrate x1 there, then open the Naza / phantom assistant and then calibrate x1 there as well.

RC app works fine except for the X1 switch (see screenshot):

Here is the info on the RC app:

It's the same thing in the Phantom 2 app (everything works except X1):

Everything else is up to date in that app:

I am out of ideas. Everything works fine on my Phantom2 except this X1 lever on my RC.

Could it be a defective RC unit?

It seems that you have done everything required. I would say the rear pot is bad.

Just to clarify, you calibrated in the rc assistant and everything calibrated except x1?

Yes.

It flies fine and the gimbal lever isn't stopping me from enjoying my Phantom 2.

Guess I need to contact DJI and try to get a replacement.

Where is the X1 cable located?

In the Phantom 2 or the remote controller?

Well I opened up the RC and tinkered with the X1 knob on the board and it works. I think my lever and rod that controls it is bad.

I have the same problem, but if I select the new type of R/C on the app then the channel X 1 works.
I don't know if this can cause problems for the flight.

hi guys , i have the same problem , can't get the X1 to work... brand new device.
i also try to change in the R/C to "upgrade version" of the controller , and now the main left stick is the one moving the camera left and right... well i will need that stick to fly ....  so what can i do to solve this problem ? any ideas what to do with this X1 nightmare ?

You do not have the upgraded controller so don't select upgrade.
It could be the pot is not engaged with the lever. Are you seeing any indication of movement for the X1 channel when you move the lever.
Go to the RC tab of the Assistant to check.

I have a Phantom 2 w/H3-2d Gimbal & Hero 4 Black Gopro.
I have no power to the Gimbal (did previously), seems that it is not initializing.
Are there any voltage or signal test points that can be checked?

The X1 appears to be working normally.
My gimbal does not show up on the app at all.

Can any one help me.
