DJI Goggles RE - bad battery out of the box?

I recently recieved a set of DJI Goggles RE and they work well in most ways, however battery life at runtime seems short and the batteries will not hold a charge overnight. I only have a single battery for my Mavic to gauge it against, but I seem to use over 80% of the goggles' power in under 30 minutes of flight time, which can't be right if the battery is supposed to last four hours. And, as I mentioned, the unit cannot hold a charge overnight. I recharge it after flying in the evening and it is fully topped off before I go to bed so I disconnect it. 8 to 10 hours later, it is totally unreponsive and has to be charged again. Is it possible I recieved a defective unit?
