Actually it depends, sometimes like in this case it has really nice effect
I use it sometimes too, I think I've shown some pictures here in the forum from my SkyPixel page where i used Black & White.

Being a recreational operator I have the privilege of only flying from myself and capture what I like. Everyone has different tastes and opinions.

My dad who used to be really into photography always hates my B&W photos,  even then ones that made it to magazine front covers.  Its like a red rag to a bull with him.

Personal taste - some can look quite 'passé composé' but each to their own.
