Hi Guys
Not sure if posting this in right place but have a problem my Mavic 2 Pro gets 2000ft away and then I get weak antenna signal message have updated all the firmware managed to get a bit further away but am wondering if there is a problem with controller or drone. Would welcome some suggestions.

Are there any obstructions between the RC and AC like trees and are you keeping the antenna perpendicular to the drone?

Thanks for your response no am on top of the clent hills above everything have just done all the updates but is raining so can't test it also I stuck some labels with my ID on the rear legs what I noticed was that transmission was 4 to 4.5 mbs have taken them off is now 12 to 12.5 mbs so am wondering if they were causing the issue

The antenna are in the landing gear on the Mavic's so that explains it. I put my ID inside the battery compartment.

No probs - no need to put your name and address in neons on the side of the drone as many will make you believe. 3mm font of the op ID on a strip of paper sellotaped in the battery compartment. No tools needed to access it on the ground - sorted!

Mines in the battery compartment too.

Ok Id in battery compartment it stopped raining long enough to test got to 3000 feet then weak signal warning am at home trees and houses

I've got over 16,000 feet with my MA2 - are you pointing the antenna directly at the drone and there is nothing in the way?

Can't see the drone at 3000 ft  am ground level houses and trees maybe

Thats going to cause interference mate - you need a clean line of sight if you want to maximise range.

When I first had the drone without any updates it flew without any issues up to a mile away don't understand why it has developed this issue and my DJI care has run out

Try changing your location and take off from an elevated point - when I'm referring to line if sight I mean no obstructions between the antennas on the AC and RC (not VLOS - your needing to see the drone).

Its a bit difficult to do that where I live my mavic pro 1 never used to have any issues at all

Weather better today found a hill by me took it out 7000 ft no problem think that is quite far to fly away from me.

Good to see the range is working for you. 7,000' is around 1.5 miles - that is generally more than far enough.

If you read up on radio wave propagation over land, this may help explain you experience.
Personally, I try to transmit from the highest point I can get to. I have noticed a weak signal message sooner if I pick open and flat terrain to fly from, even though the drone is up high. A dishing of the land between trans and drone also shows improved range over flat ground.

Think I was spoilt with my Mavic pro never had any issues with signal loss that flew for miles no issue at all have flown it in Aus long distances no issues.
