New update of mavic 2 goes from 8km to 10km great!

exciting indeed

Dustin Dunhill did a max range test with the M2P back in 2018 and turned around at over 6+ miles/10KM so I think the advertised 8KM was always on the conservative side anyway - but glad to see it's been made official.

Hello there. Thank you for reaching out and for the positive feedback on the new DJI firmware ( V01.00.0670 ) for the DJI Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom. In addition, to this I will post the list of  what has been updated on the said DJI Mavic 2 firmware. Thank you and fly safe always.

·  Improve the battery life of the remote control in low temperature environment.
·  Modify the default days of battery self-discharge to 2 days.
·  The DJI GO 4 App can be used to automatically calibrate the low-probability pan/tilt after self-test.
·  Fixed the issue that the obstacle avoidance switch does not take effect when using MSDK application.
·  Increase the maximum signal effective distance of the remote control to 10 km (FCC) and 6 km (CE/MIC/SRRC)

Probably because of all of the swollen M2P batteries that have been reported mate

It is quite annoying having to fly the MA2 within 24 hours of the charge or  you'll take off with 96% but if it helps prevent swelling in the long term then it's a small price to pay I guess.

Ive just updated the drone and all the batteries and set it back to 5 days.

It would be nice to be able to set the battery parameter;
I'll have weather that allows flying but with only 24 hours between I'd be charging 6 batteries (HOURS). 5 Days isn't bad but I'd like to be the one to decide not DJI.

You can set the auto-discharge timer for from 1 to 10 days.  You must connect & set each battery individually within the Battery settings section of the Go4 app.

" set each battery individually"  Glad you mentioned that, I had only setup the battery that was in the drone when I upgraded the firmware...
