Sorry for posting this here but I can't find information anywhere else online. We just got a brand new Osmo today and everything works great except for recording audio. We literally have to shout into it for any sound to be recorded. No, we aren't covering the microphones. Yes, we updated the firmware when we first started up. Under "Pro" in the video settings, we tried setting volume amplfication to AUTO, LOW, and HIGH and none of the settings had any effect. No, we don't have any external microphones or accessories... just the Osmo out of the box.
We are leaving the day after tomorrow for a family vacation and were excited to use this camera. Please tell me that there is a simple fix and that we don't have to return it.
