Hello there Jim. Thank you for reaching out and for the information you have given. As of the moment, we do not have any information on the exact date or when will the DJI Smart Controller be compatible with the DJI Mavic Air 2. Kindly please stay tuned to the latest updates by subscribing to DJI official website at www.dji.com or following us on social media ( Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DJI , Twitter: https://twitter.com/djiglobal , YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/djiinnovations ). In addition, the DJI Mavic Air 2 will be compatible with the DJI Smart Controller through a future firmware update. Thank you for your understanding.
DJI Stephen:
If you are only a contributor to this forum I thank you for your response. If you are a DJI employee your response was disappointing and basically said nothing. Yes, I know the functionality requires a firmware release. Everybody knows that. If you can't reply with anything of substance, why bother?
Across the board, DJI's service and support has taken a nosedive. And you can't simply blame it on the virus. It appears the company's mantra is "say nothing, do nothing, respond to nothing". That the company can't give an informative answer to a simple question is bull.... DJI knows damn well what the status is of the firmware. If there are problems, be honest, say so. The Company can give a meaningful update without disclosing deep dark company secrets.
I paid over $700 for a Smart Controller because DJI said it would be compatible with the Mavic Air 2 within a couple weeks after the drone shipped. It's been months. And the only thing you can say is "we don't have any information". Gimme a break.
