This may sound weird or crazy but I just received my DJI Mavic Mini And when I unboxed it I smelled a strong chemical smell coming from inside the box. Did this ever happen to you when unboxing a DJI drone?

Yes I opened the box of a dji air 3 and it smelled very moldy. The mold contaminated the box and bags but you could smell it inside the drone and on the controller. I threw out the shipping box and propped everything else under the oven fan. As of a couple hours of this it seems to have helped. Ill wait until tomorrow to see if i want to keep a moldy drone.
