Hi all, yestarday i got my brand new mavic air 2 fly more combo. After unboxing i noticed that all of my three batteries cant stay level on the flat surface and are swollen/bloated/puffy. This is very worrisome cuz i heard that batteries with those kind of issues should not be used for flying cuz it may cause drone to fall from the sky or even catch fire. Those are brand new batteries never flown straight out from the box. I am sending pictures how those batteries looks like on flat surface. I can also provide batteries data information from aplication if needed. IMG_20200715_202823_Easy-Resize.com.jpg IMG_20200715_202755_Easy-Resize.com.jpg IMG_20200715_202601_Easy-Resize.com.jpg

You'll find they they will 'level out' after being discharged a few times but do monitor them. I have 4 and all of them are perfectly level after 10-15 recharge cycles each. Be sure not to charge them when they are warm and store them in a cool place. Also take them out of the drone as soon as it's turned off.

Your batteries looked the same when you unbox them? And now the bulge of the bottom disappear after a dozen or so recharge cycles?

They did but when cool at 50% they are perfectly level - nothing to worry about but as I say - they seem to need a lot of TLC

You're welcome - these batteries hate heat!

Here you go...

100% charged:

50% charged:

Once the top one is discharged to 50% it will look like the bottom one

All 4 batteries perform perfectly and I flown the MA2 nearly 50 times between them with about 21 hours flight time and nearly 250 miles distance.

Hello there. Thank you for reaching out and for these information you have shared with us. A J is correct on post #2. In addition to this thread. Slightly swelling of the DJI Intelligent flight battery is normal after charging due to the heat when charging. Please let it under static status for 24 hours. If you have any other inquiries or concerns with DJI. Please feel free to post it here at DJI Forum. Thank you for your understanding and support.
