Hi there, I have noticed that both of my drones with DJI FPV Air Units have periodic artifacting (compression smears or blur) when recording using the onboard DVR (not the goggles).

Both Air Units have Samsung EVO Select U3 sd cards.

Anyone else? Any solution to this?

Thanks

1st idea, cards too slow (genuine cards?)
2nd - I read there are random sdcard slow issues on .500 and .600 (check topic about last firmware, some ppl mention there sdslow problems, even to problems with drone falling from sky)

Are you using 50mbps high quality mode?

The side blur gets a lot better when using those settings.

You will need the latest firmware version.

This is happening in the Air Unit's DVR, not the goggles. I would imagine that the quality mode, data rate, etc. would have no effect on this.

The cards are on the recommended list, purchased from Amazon Prime, so doubt they are not genuine.

When using other sub standard cards (U1), the goggles show a "slow sdcard" warning, don't see this on these Evo cards.

Ok, tried another sdcard (also a U3 card, Sandisk), same drone/air unit, same issue, it's exactly every 15 seconds. I uploaded a sample video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-Vv73LCja8

I even formatted the card using the goggles, this really seems like a bug in the video recording/encoding.

Surprised no one else is seeing this...

might be unit overheating, so that 15sec cpu throttle a little (bad placement of thermal compount inside?) - try checking it on unit that is cold, if it happen from start...dunno
u may also try put some different capacitor - maybe there are some voltage spikes?
no more ideas - so if u can't find what is causing that problem >> go warranty
