I have the DJI Osmo Pocket and have been very happy with it. Recently it stopped recognizing Micro SD cards. When the camera is turned on, or when pushing the record button, the message "No SD Card" shows up on the LCD. I have two Micro SD cards, both of which have previously worked in the camera. The camera will not recognize either of them. I have tried reinserting and jiggling the cards around many times to no avail.

Is there a recommended safe way to clean the card slot? Any other things to try before sending the camera in for servicing?

Fred: Perhaps try a fresh high speed card and see what happens...Format via the Pocket... Hope you get it going.

I will try getting a fresh card. So far have tried three micro-SD cards. The cards can be read and formatted by a computer through the card reader, but when inserted in the Pocket they are not detected. It is impossible to format them in the Pocket as it doesn't think it has a card in it at all.

Hi. I am sorry for that trouble this has caused. With regards to this concern. Kindly please try a different SD card to isolate the issue. Please refer to the image posted below for the recommended SD card list for the DJI Osmo Pocket. Please keep us posted for further assistance. Thank you.

Hi Fred.
I think I agree with you if the cards work in other micro SD ports. Sounds like your micro SD port is playing up. So I think it's one of three possibilities.  Oxidization of a pin or pins within the port. A bent or broken pin within the port or a dry or oxidized joint between the port socket and board. None of which are easy to fix on a micro SD port. To my mind it needs to be looked at by the service department.

There is one more thing you can try though.
Go on the net and download and use the specialised SD format program for formatting SD cards in the link at the bottom of my reply. That willl rebuild the hidden partition that such cards need to work in something like the Osmo Pocket if the card has been formatted by Windows that can destroy that partion on formatting such cards. Do that on the PC and try to see if the Osmo Pocket then sees the card.

SD card formatter.

Ray.

Use your card reader to copy files to computer but always use Osmo to format the card. Devices often do some own magic to the cards and may not work properly if you format is using windows. Operating system only formats the sd card but devices may do some other saving to the card during format. Even if the file format is the same like exfat. No matter hen device, use the device to format the card.

You could also try some CRC for electronic components. I have fixed some usb ports using electronic cleaners because my kids used to bite phones and stuff. Cleaners helps metal pins to recover.

Yes, I always formatted the cards in the Osmo. I have cleaned card slots before but the smallness of the micro-SD slot makes it hard to do without taking apart. In the end DJI fixed it under warranty. I am now more careful when inserting and removing cards.

Well I have the same problem, any card I insert it does not work while all working on insta360, insta 360 rs and other devices using high performance cards.
for sure something happened inside the card reader of the dji pocket.
absurd to tell us to buy those cards you listed when the problem is not the card.
I also tried to format with the app above here mentioned, as quick format and overwrite format but... no way to be recognised from dji pocket, it thinks a bit trying to read the card but then give error.
so I'm using THAT card on a insta360 and other devices with no problem.
wondering if it could be repaired (for something I did not make wrong), but if not the product is not affordable and probably it will occur in the years to come with other dji devices.
it's a pity...
no other choice to change brand, very disappointed for my dji pocket, used not much and not affordable when going to use it.

Hi, tungsteno. Sorry about the experience. I suggest sending your unit to the DJI facility. You can submit a repair request using this link: https://repair.dji.com/pt/repair/index. The warranty can be applied depending on the assessment's outcome, including your unit's warranty period. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
