My opinion is the choice depends on your target device & audience.  Viewed on a cellphone or small tablet, most won't notice a difference.  If your primary audience is YouTube, 1080 is usually sufficient as many suffer stuttering when attempting to stream at higher resolutions.  If you intend to view your creations on a Big Screen, or just want to future proof your videos as much as possible, go for the 2.7K.  

1080 has definite advantages in processing speed & storage requirements.  I suspect 1080 will remain a viable solution for many years.

My opinion its the same!! For me, on youtube 1080p its enough.. to be honest, i prefer 1080 60fps to have the possibility to slowmotion x2.

Yes, I also use 1080 at 60 frames per second, I can slow down. My computer does not have the power to use 2.7 k. And 1080 vs. 2.7k isn’t such a big difference that it would bother me
