For FPV quads, if all you care about is how long you can stay in the air, then 18650's would be a good choice.  Otherwise, I'd pass.....

theres a definite usecase for building your own Li-Ion pack. Everyone has to weigh it's pros and cons.

I get the feeling we are ripped off when looking at the battery prices for MP, but not enough to make my own.

Indeed - my four MA2 batteries would cost £420 to replace - I baby them to say the least lol

Competition is creeping up this year by the look of it - the MA2 kept them in the loop though that 'M3' needs to be released soon to wipe out the rest

So far I have not seen serious (enough) competition.
But with the ever growing market and (in my opinion) no real option to 'buy into a system' like you do with camera's and lenses or so DJI can't take it easy.
