Just bought a Mavic 2 pro, please can anyone explain why there is an SD slot in the Drone and also one in thr Smart Controller ?

Basically the smart controller is like a phone or tablet where it has its own built in storage (64GB, 128GB, etc). This is where flight data and video cache will be stored. Since you can load apps on the device that will take up space also. The smart controller gives you the ability to add an additional storage option to help increase your storage and as a backup for pictures. It supports 32GB up to 128GB cards. Here is a quick note on some abilities of the SD slot.

I have bought a couple of Micro SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB and hope they will be fine ?

I use Sandisk ULTRA cards and they work fine. Just the 64Gb ones but you can use upto 128Gb I believe.

Would you recommend having the SD card in the drone vs the smart controller? Is there something that has to be setup to ensure the data is being written to the SD card in the drone during flight..?
