The Sellin pier, newly built in 1997 and 394 meters long, is the longest pier on the island of Rügen.
The first, 508 meter long pier and restaurant from 1906 was damaged by pack ice in 1918 and 1924, and in 1925 a new approx. 500 m long platform and concert hall were built. This bridge was also largely destroyed in a heavy ice drift in winter 1941/1942.
Reconstruction began in August 1992 based on the 1906 and 1925 buildings.
Sellin Pier is a pier in the Baltic seaside resort of Sellin on the German island of Rügen. The pier has a restaurant near the beach over the water and has a diving gondola.
