Its a quarry for a cement manufacturer,  it used to be an RAF base many years ago.

AJ,  Its a cement company,  but your right the other holes they had dug were filled with water.

It's quite common in Hertfordshire - quite a few mining companies around here.

They are mainly fishing lakes now mate. Only took 2-3 years. Which is why I keep the drone high up over them - don't want a fisherman going nuts at me - though he'd never know where to look to find me anyway

lol.  I had a guy freaking out because he thought the power lines over the railway was making a funny noise,  then he realised it was a drone and was OK with it.

I remember flying near a maze at a country estate in Wales with my P3P back in 2016 and an old lady walking around the maze thought there was a wasp attack and freaked out as she didn't know how to get out of the maze. I put the drone behind a tree so she couldn't see it and left it hovering whilst I recorded her - pure entertainment!

This was an RAF base at one point,  then it was used as a race track and now its being dug up.
