More a Manor House with pretensions of grandeur, this place must once have been pretty impressive.
Today, it's in a sorry state. Poorly maintained and with one tower spire already demolished and the other
ready to collapse at any moment. it has definitely seen better days. Downstairs is a second-hand furniture shop
with beat-up cars scattered about the forecourt. First-floor apartments advertised but largely unlet, cobweb
shrouds hanging in  the windows.  A stark contrast to my last castle posting at Montbrault.

I stayed in a property like this near cognac.   It belonged to a family friend who bought it to do up.  I think they then sold it as there was nothing for miles around it,  not even a restaurant.   There was of course a local boulangerie and countryside was beautiful.

lol,   cognac was lovely and driving south west there are some lovely spots.  Oh and the drinks were good too.

It's some years since we've travelled south of the Loire and, consequently, I have no drone footage from the southerly parts of France.  In the present Global circumstances, it may be some time before the opportunity arises

It was built in the 1870's by the owner of a granite quarry.
