This is not an update of the firmware. This is an update of the DJI Fly app to version 1.1.6.

Thanks, hallmark07...I already knew about the battery and gimbal changes but didn't know about the Disable Sideways Flight option (don't know if I'll ever use it, though).

Yeah same here, I’m thinking this could be a very useful setting, I haven’t been able to try it out but was wondering if yaw still worked if it does then similar moves like we had in course lock would be achievable which would be use full. Also just for filming straight lines forward back . I may get out tomorrow evening to try.

I think author of the video hadn’t updated all his batteries from last update. I presume anyway.

Just finished playing around with them in flight on V1.1.6 but I'm sure I missed some options so this is will help - thanks mate.

I completely missed the sideways feature - great addition!

Edit: Just turned it back on and that feature and the ability to merge APAS with OA is presently missing on my iPhone - that must be a pending FW update. I have the new battery icon and gimbal/yaw sensitivity options for each flight mode having updated to 1.1.6 though.

I believe the owner of the video has actually an unreleased (yet) firmware. I have my Fly APP on 1.0.6 for few days now (Android), there is no option for side flying of advanced APAS.
We will need to wait for the new firmware to be released also for us, the mere mortals. :-)

Wanted to try that 2morrow, but also have not "seen" a fw update for Air 2

Perhaps birds from outside the US, fw update needs longer?

even before he puts it in the air. so maybe fw update soon then?

It's all still a bit random 1.1.6 fly seems readily available for iOS but not for Droid yet, apk mirror aside. It also appears some features need. .309 fw but this also seems sporadic in availability I'm still on .250 with no sign of an update even after checking. Anyone in Europe got fw 309 yet?

Where did you get the app download is it full app or apk version.

The 1.0.6 update was pushed by Play store. It came to my phone (Android 9) and to my tablet (Android 7). Must  a country thing, I'm in the UK. Anyway, the side flying feature and the advanced APAS are not yet deployed, we need to wait for the drone update.

No, it's not on there. The sideways icon is missing as is the new APAS/OA feature - everything else is on there so the remaining missing features must be waiting for the new FW update.

I've also notice in the camera settings that the 4K option states the word 'WIDE' in a box under it - wonder what that it is going to be as I didn't see any change to wide angle while in 4K?!

Good spot wonder if the photo options might have been updated with the new firmware to.

Seems that way - this FW with the app update is a massive upgrade to the MA2.

I was just looking at that thought something was missing not sure what the wide means maybe it’ll be explained with new FW. But yeah it looks pretty substantial.

I think you’re right, I’ve seen this a few times with dji. So hopefully it’s available soon.

Yeah, 'Air Photography' is a known beta tester so that may have something to do with it.

Still no app update to 1.1.6 yet on my devices??

Nothing here either might be Google verification process seems droid 8 & 9 are getting it I'm on 10 & playstore still shows fly 1.1.5. You could load the apk but some features look like needing fw .309 on the Air2.  I'm giving it a week then I'll try the apk if playstore hasn't updated.
